Back when I was first given the privilege to be a moderator for iowawhitetail.com I was given the assignment of the Polls Forum. Less than two years ago we were lucky to get 100 votes a week on a poll. I know of several polls that were up for several weeks and did not have a 100 total vote’s. Now we are often getting 100+ votes per day when a new poll is posted. I see this increased interest in voting the polls as a positive for this website, and I hope that you members agree. I do not pretend to take credit for all of this increased interest, as some of the new poll ideas have come from IW members.

I will not deny that some of the recent polls subject matter is somewhat controversial. Some of you have even started to post in several of the other forums on this website and began discussing the subject of some of these polls in a constructive way. We all may a difference of opinion but I want to say that I am impressed by the professional manner in which you IW members conduct yourselves when engaged in these discussions. Your stated opinions are often educational for everyone.

I recently heard from a member that stated: [ QUOTE ]
One could certainly argue that the DNR and others are monitoring this website and your polls and may try to make changes in rules pertaining to deer hunting if they feel there is sufficient support, or a division in the racks of deer hunters.

[/ QUOTE ]

I welcome the Iowa DNR to this website. I feel that they are often very helpful in responding to our questions and clearing up some misconceptions.

I want to assure all of you that I have no hidden agenda in mind when I post any of the polls. And I would urge everyone to voice your opinion when one of the polls is being discussed in a forum.

Thank You,
