Bow season is not all that far away. So since I have not posted a poll in a while I thought I would start with this one.

Which type of stand do you use most often when bow hunting whitetails?

Multiple answers are an option in this poll. Should give all of us a better idea what everyone is using.

As always feel free to share with all of us your thoughts. :)

I like to be mobile....and some times I like the just walk in and sit.

Ladder stands are nice but I like to be higher than most ladder stands. I do have a few ladder stands tho.

I dont like hunting off the ground. Seems like the deer are on top of me before I see them coming in.

Ladder stands for me not the fondest of heights! I'm a pretty big guy and just seem to feel safer with a ladder than a hang on,lol

I really like my tree sticks & my hang-on stand. It's quick & mobile but I find my legs go numb & I sometimes nod off for a few seconds. That's not something I am not comfortable doing in my little hang-on.

So, I mainly use my 2 man ladder. It's not mobile at all but it's very comfortable even when my son goes w/ me.

I have 160 acres of timber I bought to retire on and now that I've reached those golden years I find I like the comfort of my home made tower stands and it's easy to spend the whole day in the field. I also use a few ladder stands from time to time. During deer season, deer hunting is the only thing I have to do. Retirement is so sweet.

Bragger ;)

No brag just fact.LOL It seems like it was a long time coming. I just hope I live a few more years to enjoy it. As far as stands go I had access to around 800 feet of 1 inch tubing and 300 feet of 3inch at no charge so my brothers and i built a couple dozen ladder stands , now when we put one up it stays permanently as long as the location proves to be right. we have also built 6 enclosed tower stands for colder weather. The boss lady has carpet, propane heater, table 2 swivel chairs and a porta pot in hers . She likes her Bow hunting and I' m Thankful to have a lady that hunts and fishes with me in our old age. So I was happy to make her one special stand. And yes I know I.m one lucky guy

Great ? and discussion. I've tried all of them, in the past 5 years I tried the hang and hunt BUT this guy is not patient enough for that. As early as I get out, I make some noise, sweat and I just don't like it.
My pre-hung spots are USUALLY up in the spring and sometimes they move from year to year. If I didn't spend countless hours scouting from year to year I know I'd miss tons of good spots though. MOST of my spots I find in the core/premium areas can be left up (maintained) from year to year and they always produce. Finding those magic spots sure is a task.
Interesting preferences and tactics everyone has, cool how many different ways it can be done.
