Pond bank herbicide

What would you use to knock back poison ivy on the bank of a pond realizing that rain might wash some into the water and you will be eating fish from it? I realize that I probably don't care to eat any herbicide, hopefully the runoff will be minimal and diluted.

Not sure of efficacy as I’ve never tried it, but many swear by a mix of white vinegar, salt, and dish soap as a sticker. Might be worth a shot on a patch of it before applying chemicals.

Might be another viable option. I’ve used it on my lawn in the past with great success, but to your original point, not sure I’d want to have too much 2,4-D or Dicamba dripping into my pond.
