We have a pretty bad crossing on one of the farms that we need to fix by next year because about 100 acres of CRP is coming out and going back into production so we need to make it accessible for bigger equipment.
I’ve contacted the NRCS multiple times this spring and they have yet to have time to come send someone take a look at the site but the previous land owner said at one time he was working with them and army core of engineers, and supposedly they located a spring there and designed and approved for a big pond project which I think I’d rather do to address that crossing. The gal at the NRCS is trying to see if they still have any record of that which would make my life easier, but in the meantime is any one in the Guthrie County area that would be able to help with that or have any info on how I can get someone to take a look and help me jump through the hoops to get something like that designed, and I guess it needs to be approved? It’s pretty much a big drainage and the NRCS guy last year did a quick look and said it’s a naturally flowing stream and we couldn’t do anything but now that I learned that there is actually a spring there that is keeping the water flowing. I wonder if that will change their opinion and allow us to put a pond there?
