Poor Rack Score Estimation (Put To The Test)

My buddy killed this buck oct 29th. We have had pics of him the last 2 years and he got him killed this year. Take your guess at score. First say the first score that pops in your head. Then study him and see what you think. I am very happy to say that after seeing a lot of trail pics of him and guessing a score I was within 5 inches of what he actually scored. Another intresting story is that this buck has grown 25 inches since he died and supposedly a proffesional hunter killed him :thrwrck:man it is great to see how stories change in just a few days haha.

O yeah i forgot it is also the new state record bow kill and has been shot in 4 different counties and that is all in just the first week and a half

160 inch typical frame with about 25 inches of Junk? Hard to really tell. Some pics make a buck look giant, some pics don't make them look as big as they really are.

Probably off a touch, but from that picture I'd say mid 160's main frame 10 with around 18" of abnormal points (from what can be seen), final gross score is 188ish.

First score is, GROSS BOONER!!!

Regardless, it's an amazing buck and the smile says it all. Congrats for closing the deal.

I'm guessing he's a 165 typical frame with 25" of junk. 190 2/8" is my best guess. When it comes to deer like that, I never know exactly where to guess. Either way, he's HUGE.

If I was to see a buck that size I'd quit thinking about score and just try to get a shot on it. Once he's down I can always put the tape to it. Seriously how many guys out there have the experience to accurately judge a deer of that caliber. I know I don't. I can tell a 160" from a 180" but after that I don't even care. I'll let my arrow do the talking then put a tape on it. Regardless of score that buck is a brute and a true Iowa giant

From that picture 185 Gross. Cant tell if there is more junk on it and not an accurate width. Will say there is 40" of mass for the score though!

And, ya, I would have put an arrow through him no matter what the score was, love the junk and mass!
