potato peeler

Re: potatoe peeler

Sorry, no I haven't tried that. Don't see why it wouldn't. Keep the pressure light though.

Couldn't resist. Dan Quayle would be proud of your spelling of potato(e).

Re: potatoe peeler

I've always just used a normal old box cutter and then some acetone to finish the job. Keeping it simple seems to work for me.

Re: potatoe peeler

They say that it doesn't hurt the carbons at all, no matter how hard you shave. I'll give it a try tomorrow and tell you how it works, oh ya DJhunter what miss spelling???

Gotta love the ability to edit.

Re: potatoe peeler

Back to the subject. Sounds like a good idea. I'm going to give it a try. Probably wouldn't have to worry as much about putting nicks in your arrows. Not that I ever have of course.

Re: potatoe peeler

Well I tried it on some old gold tips that I had it worked awesome I even pressed real hard to see if it would shave the carbon but it didn't even phase it. I did however manage to snip the top of my thumb, just a few words of caution.

Re: potatoe peeler

I just reflechted my wife's arrows this weekend and I used our potato peeler. It worked great for me also. No matter how hard I pressed I couldn't get any carbon to peel off. I just removed most of the feather with a scissors and used the peeler to take of the glue, worked like a charm.
