Potluck?

With the deer classic passed and a lot of people wanting to meet other IWers. I thought it be a cool idea to have a potluck at a lake or something where everyone could meet up..maybe have a donation jar for dbltree also..

Just a thought and didn't know who to bring it up to so figured I'd just make a thread and see what people thought.

I know this is been done before but not sure if people still get together. Kinda of a shed gathering and meeting type of deal.

Other than the shed gathering several years ago they had we've talked about having a golf outing or whatnot a few times but to my knowledge we've never went through with it. Just need one chief to step up and put it all together in a somewhat central/convenient place and I'm sure quite a few IW'ers will show up. If you build it, they will come.

Someone should put on a IW 3d shoot. Make it a weekend deal where people could come camp and shoot and get to know each other!

Sounds like the IBA fall festival. Wouldn't take any organizing just get all the IW members to meet at a designated spot.

Pot luck sounds great- everyone bring a dish (and maybe some morels to fry:) ) as I would certainly attend

Chip - you dog! I didn't know you found so many. We had another ho-hum year last year and actually, it has been several years since we really found a lot of them. But, when it is "right" it is unreal how many you can find.

This year, text me when you start finding them so I know when to look.:D

We had one great weekend and hit a few big spots and that was it. As you can tell they were some pretty big finds though. We will let you know when we start finding them next year.

I'd love to join this event if its close enough and I don't have prior plans. Sounds like a good time.

Well if anyone is interested we talked of hosting at dbltree's for clay pigeons and a 3d shoot on his lower field. We could all bring stuff to share (eat) and try to raise funds for Paul?

Not sure what it would look like but it's an option. I thought would be fun to have an "open mic" to talk about how Paul has affected us in many ways.

This sounds like a good time...being new here to Iowa it would be nice to meet some fellow hunters and their families!

Gonna bump this up now that it's starting to slow down in food plot work. Didn't know if anyone would want to try to set one up for August or something

It sounds like a great Idea. Though, I would think the biggest issue would be coming up with a neutral enough site to host it. A location that would be user friendly in miles driven for most of the users across the state.
