Predator fleece jacket question

I have a predator fleece jacket that I really like except for one thing. The wrist cuffs are super tight, to a point where I feel like it slowly cuts off circulation to my hands. The elastic band that is sewn in there is very tight. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to alleviate the tension on the band without cutting the whole thing out? Should I just cut the whole elastic band out? Or any other suggestions?

Cut the band across its width, the short way, then sew up the two open ends. Make sure to sew the elastic band in place so it does not bunch up in the fabric. You can add a piece of fabric to make the cuff one piece and larger also.
