I hope this helps. At least till next year when DSD makes thier strutter.

I think it looks great might be little to shiny but that may be the way the picture was taken

I agree it was alittle too shiny. Plus I was to lazy to get the real camera so I used my cell phone that didnt help. So I took a scotch pad and roughed it up some I think it helped.

I also thought I had it taped off very good but still had some bleed through. I wish I had an air brush!

Clear fingure nail polish on the eyes shine them up.

"The color can change with the turkey's mood, with a solid white head and neck being the most excited."(wikapedia)

How many you have seen a turkey in the wild with a all white head and wattle? I never have.

I have seen two with all white heads and wattles twice. Both times they were big birds by their selves struttin and chasing a lady. Other than that, can't think of any other times.

Every strutting tom I've seen looks like how you did your deke Cooter. White on top of the head, blueish in the face and red down the neck. I'm thinking about getting out some paint.

Looks good man!

Have seen plenty of birds with all white heads and to be honest I went back to a mostly white head on mine however, I really don't think it makes any difference. You can actually watch the bottom ones waddles turn from snow white to red the more upset he gets.

Personally I think they turn white when they are showing dominance. I'm looking to bring in all birds.

I may be wrong..... but that's happened before.

Nice vids thanks for sharing

The three with white heads walked right past those hen decoys and headed strait for your strutter. Maybe it was due to the breeding hen.

When you place your breeding hen away from your strutter do they go to her with the white heads or do thier heads turn red and they go to the strutter?

Here is another example watch the waddles right before he gets throat punched. He is getting ready to fight and waddles go from white to pink and if allowed to last much longer would have been red.

These birds are dumber than a bag of hammers. Their first instinct is to fight/establish dominance then breed. They don't care what color the other guys head is they want him out of the area. I truly don't think it matters but in all my years of hunting/bowhunting turkeys their head turns red when then are ready to throw down. What I am getting at is I think too much is being made out of head color. It does look cool and I like to put my own personal touch on stuff that I use as well. Also if it gives you the added confidence you need let er rip. :way: :drink1:

I'm not disagreeing with you just trying to get some insight.

I like the red wattle better and hopefully in a couple of weeks I can test it out.:drink2:
