I had all last week off, so we did some serious turkey hunting last week. The week started off by me hunting alone 1st season. Monday was a wash out. Tuesday morning i tried to sneak in on some rousted Tom's. That didn't work, so i decided to go hunt some public land that i had good luck on last year. Sat for 2hrs and nothing was moving or gobbling. Finally a crow got one to fire off, so i went to work with the call. Everything was looking good for a while. The bird was getting closer and sounded like was coming in to the call. Then the bird just shut up. Knowing that the bird was only 200 yards away on a pine ridge, I decided to climb out of the blind and sneak up and take a peek. Well i found out why he shut up, he was in there spitting and drumming for a hen. Trying to get a little closer the hen busted me and started to alarm put and walk away from me. This actually worked out in my favor. The Tom followed her and walked within 40 yards of my 3in Federal. I ruined his day.

Went back out to help get my dad a bird second season. We hunted hard on Friday, but the birds just were not coming to calls. A lot of Tom's were with hens and they were not leaving there sides. Saturday i decided it was time to play dirty, so i broke out the pretty boy with the struttn 360 and we waited for a victim. After 2 hrs and not a single gobble i was starting to get discouraged. We were talking about trying a different area and i let out a series of yelps when i heard a gobble. I looked up on the hill and there was a Tom all by himself and he was looking at pretty boy. A little struttn with the 360 and he was running right to the blind!

Here are some more birds our group got over the weekend.
