Question for any Pro. Photographers out there...

Santa's bringing my wife a Nikon D70 with an AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm and an AF Nikkor 70-300mm telephoto lens and a Bogen tripod. She has always been into "snapping" pictures but I'm thinking this set-up will bring that to a new level. We are both interested in nature photography and both willing to take classes on it. Is there any photographer/studio around that teaches the novice SLR user proper technique? I know of one gentleman in N. Dakota that puts on a 5 day workshop in the Badlands for about $750.00 a person.

Although my experience with SLR cameras is limited, I'm pretty sure I got her off to a good start with the gear I've obtained thus far. If anyone has any more suggestions on gear, books, clinics, workshops, etc., please let me know. Thanks.

Santa did a very nice job selecting the equipment

My first suggestion would be some classes on digital photography, the D70 has a lot of bells and whistles to become familar with. Most photography retailers offer a short class.
Alaskan had a great website to check out. I really like their magazine.

Good luck.

I can't wait till next issue, its got alaska north and south.. Those will be some sweet pics.

Elkhunter, did you submit a picture for the $10,000 photo contest, I'm gonna.
