What kind of fish is this? It's got the coloration of a perch, but it's got the head of a creek chub. It was about 10" long and caught in feeder creek to the DM River in Central Iowa. Any thoughts?

Lance not sure what the technical name is but only place I've ever found them is in rivers. Catch em in throw nets. Remind me alot of chubs with a bigger body.

Good flat head bait....

That'd called a common shiner or "Luxilus cornutus" they often times get that big. Dead give away is that they have big silvery scales that look like they're falling off in places. Native to Iowa and very common in smaller streams.
