I bought some guillotines last night, 125gr. and also bought the arrows to match. Then I came home and searched this forum and a few others. You seem to be the resident expert on these heads.
After reading several posts on other sites I am considering returning these and getting some Jackhammers. The GG's seem like a huge headache to me(as well as the toms
). Are they worth the trouble?
I have only loosed 2 arrows at turkeys in my life. Both times I used Montecs. The first was a stalk on a group of toms in the fall and I smoked one with a 30 yard shot and he went 15 feet. The second was this week and it was a 10 yard shot and he ran off like he wasn't hurt and I never recovered the bird.
I've read many horror stories recently about bow killing turks and I don't want to continue losing birds.
Should I give the GG's a try or go with a big cutting mechanical? If I lose another bird this spring I will go back to gunning for turks, but I don't want to do that.
I need help making up my mind.
GG's, Jacks, or stay with the G5's?
