This deer made it to 5.5 years of age.

Questions 1 and 2 he was 5.5
Question 3 he was 3.5
Question 4 and 6 he was 4.5
Question 5 he was 2.5

As for score, I never had him officially scored, but he has been taped by a few folks and is about 151 total inches. I never even figured out what the ‘net’ would be, but he is pretty even except for the abnormal point, which is just shy of 4 inches.

The sheds we have would have put him in the mid 40s as a 3.5 and upper 40s as a 4.5. He never put on a lot of inches, but the added mass in his tines is pretty cool.

All in all, I personally think it is pretty difficult to guess the age of a deer once they are ‘mature’. This is reflected in lots of the guesses…… You pretty much have to have some history with them, or just shoot them and send the teeth in to figure it out. We were wondering if he was 5.5 or 6.5 when I shot him, so sent them in to really know.

Sorry the posts took so long, hopefully some found it fun….. I’ve added some of the pics again in ‘age’ order so you can see how he progressed.

Great series of postings. Great idea. But in my honest opinion, the deer made it to 6yrs old. He is a 3 yr old in the first pic...no way hes only 2 there. The people that test the teethr are usually wrong. Just saying.

That was fun to see how he progressed thru the years. Thanks for sharing!

NO WAY he isn't 2.5? There are some STUD 2.5 year old deer out there that are as big as he is in that picture. Just sayin
