I've been thinking of buying a new set of rain gear for shedding/turkey hunting this year. Packable and briar resistant. Do they make such an animal? Any suggestions, likes or dislikes?
They only problem is that they are very thin and I have ripped several small holes in them on thorns and one big rip on barbed wire. If you were to slip them on over your clothes once in the stand they would be awesome, but I don't advise wearing them through any thick stuff as they tear easily.
After re-reading your post, these 2 items definitely are not well suited for what you are looking for. I have yet to find anything that will work well. Many of Cabela's "100% money back guarantee,100% water proof" garments are crap. I've been soaked to the bone in their $200 rain suit while turkey hunting on several occasions.

I spent about that much on my Cabelas rain gear a few years ago, this year was the first time I have been out in a driving rain storm. I got soaked through. I just assumed if it was rain gear that it would be water proof. Guess not. I'm not sure which style I have, its in a plastic tub outside and I don't wanna go look.
Thanks for the replies guys, I have had a set of Helly Hansens in olive green for a long time. I think I'll save my $$$ and just give em' the "MJT spray can camo special."
