Raindance:

Is fishbonker doing the raindance for me or himself? Whereabouts does he live? Next chance for me will be late Sunday night. Once again not good timing for a cold front . Typical timing though, for Eastern Iowa. On the flip side Western Iowa once more, under the gun for storms starting as early as Sat. A bunch out there west now in Neb. My best hope,,and for those dry in easternIowa and West Ill ,is if this system can stall near us and become active. This happened frequently in June and July. Ring of fire thing across MO. I got in on a lot of that. Rain everyother day. Amazing though how fast moisture disappears. Especially when it gets hot and windy. The excess rain I had in July though, really does little good,, unless you can store it. Once the ground is filled,,the excess just runs down the creeks.

I like to think that my influence in all things, not just rain dancing, is global, galactic and perhaps even universal in its scope. But alas and alack, my wife reminds me daily that my influence stops at the fingertip/keyboard interface.

This will not deter me my brothers, I shall dance the dance for all things positive in our lives such as Cubs wins, Cards and Pirates losses, Packers wins, Bears and Viqueens losses. I shall dance the dance for rain where it is dry and sunshine where it is wet. I shall dance the dance for all things great and small, by God man, I'll dance for all! But the wife says I have to mow the lawn first.

Good, by all means Dance..For my Brassica,,which is wilting in this heat,,for my clover,,which is browning,,and for my rye,,which never came up! The Weather Services are talking Heavy Rain-Potential Flooding. Question is Where? Recently it has all stayed in western Iowa and North of I-80. Dance it down here!.. Other than a padded room,,Just where do you reside? Just curious? Do you need water or Sun?

I live in the dark recesses of your mind. I am the mist in the night, the fog at sunrise. I am the muse that whispers in your ear. I am everywhere, I am nowhere.

OH I get ya,,that is over near Business Iowa! Just wondering for weather purposes. Everyone about knows where my place is,,and I don't care. Maybe I should?

Flashback T-250!:D Now back to the original post. I hope somebody can dance.

Since you had North and West in those coordinates, I'll assume somewhere NW Iowa. anyway,,be sure and dance,,Today is windy and Hot,,my stuff is really suffering. I go out in mid Afternoon with a hose and give all my trees, plants and even the grass a cool shower around my house. Wish I had enough hose for my plots and fruit trees out in the field. I heard a Nursery guy once say plants are just like us..They appreciate a stress cooler shower in the mid day heat. Must be, cause I got 12 bushel of apples from a one tree in the yard this year as a thank you! Heavy rain is dangling like a carrot out there in the forecast for some lucky area next two nights. Over my way were all crossing our fingers.

Hope everyone gets what they need. They keep fidgeting with the coverage maps. We're in the 1" band as of now, Mon thru Tues. 1 of our farms out on the prairie caught a fluke tiny cell that hovered for an hour yesterday. The gauge on the beans had 2" and half mile south the corn field gauge had 1.1". 8 miles south at our hunting farm our plots only got a few drops.

Well as of tonight, going just as I forecast! torenial flooding rains up north along I-80. Mother Inlaw talking to my wife up there, sayin it will not stop! coarse you can see it on radar. As in the past though, its stayin up there . Stars out down here in Se Iowa. Been the pattern since 3 wks or so ago, North and West. Been the case all summer. A flood one area,,only drops not that far away. Instead of an overall coverage. Maybe Monday night? But not holdin my breath! Probably have the hose out again Monday...
