Rangefinders

I'm looking at buying a new rangefinder sometime soon, and I've been eyeballing the Nikon Archers Choice and the Nikon Monarch 800. I was wondering if anyone here has had any practical experience with either of these. If not, what other product would you suggest?

I have the archers choice. No problems yet. It was an up grade from my original which was the cheapest bushnell you could get when I started. I like the Nikon. It's much easier to use one handed then my old bushnell and carries better. I have not found the ARC really a necessity but figured it would not be bad to have for my western hunts. Only reason I ended up with it was it was on a super sale since they came out with a new model. If there is anything I don't like about it it's limited range, 100 yards, so it's for bowhunting only. Also, display is not the greatest in low light.

I have a Nikon rifle hunter. From what I've heard the archers choice one isn't worth it for the angle comp unless the angle is really severe and at longer distances.

I have the Monarch 800 and it is very nice. No issues with it (knock on wood). Had a Bushnell before that and it lasted 2 seasons. Never made an attempt to send it in, but it just quit ranging for some reason. Girlfriend has the AC and it seems nice as well. The Leica's are very nice as well from what I've heard, but a couple hundy more.

Don't have either of these. I have Leopold RX something or other. Bought them years back. Sent back in once with great cs. Ready for some new ones also. Never have used the angle adjustment during hunting. Used it target shooting from the tree and seen no point in it. Not enough of a difference from the line of sight reading. Just not needed in my hunting situations. Have had issues with not reading dark dense objects like my turkey targets. Plan to check my next set of my rangefinders in the store for this.

Been using the monarch 800 for years and no complaints. Brother has a Leica and really like the red readings in low light which are easier to see than the black.

Monarch 800. Been using it since 2005. Never ever had any issues. Haven't used anything else, so I can't compare. The 1/2 yard increments are pretty handy.
