Rattling Antlers???

Cornfed

Bowhunting Addict
I have been using a rattle bag the last couple of years and quite honestly do not have a lot of confidence in the way that it sounds, thus I probably have not tried it enough..... I am interested in taking afield a genuine set of antlers this fall. Problem is that I can't get myself to cut the brow tines off any of my good sheds!!! Does anyone know someone who sells antlers in the 120-140 class that would be good to use for rattling?

Look along the roadways when bucks start chasing and one bites the dust, that is how I found mine. I know that doesn't quite help for this fall but you never know

try using the antlers backwards, right side in left hand and left side in right hand, with the browtines between your index and middle fingers. thats what i do and they dont get in the way, what ever is most comfortable with you goodluck!

I've been looking on Ebay, you just have to be careful to find a fresh set that has not been sitting outside.

i suggest cutting/grinding the browtines off if you get some. no matter how careful you are you'll smash your finges and it HURTS. as far as finding some antlers, ebay or the roadside or cruise around the riverside area southwest of iowa city. i noticed that many farmers have antlers in their yards as display, you may be able to pick one up cheap around there.

cut off the browtines, drill a hole through them, put a small strip of leather through it, and hang it on your rearview mirror, then you can be a hick like me!!!!

drill holes and a string are essential. i don't have a rearview mirror to hang mine on anymore.
