Rattling Routines

When I hunt I like to keep the surroundings as natural as I can(Without scent, blind sight calling). With that, I haven't really rattled deer up until this year. I was very suprised with the LUCK I've been getting. I have been lightly rattling in the early mornings and around noon oclock on cool days. I rattle a little then hit a few grunts, then tear up a few branches that still have leaves on them above my stand. Since it is still early yet, I've been rattling about every hour or so. I am curious, what times to you have your best luck and what is your normal routine.

i always rattle at first light and a little before last light when things are calmest. other than that it depends, during the rut i rattle every 20 minutes to half hour. pre rut depends on my mood and if i think it's a good time to rattle. using the force has worked well for me thus far.

Tickled the antlers tonite about 6:15 and got a nice buck to come in almost to bow range. I usually have my best luck during pre-rut (halloween time) and rattle every 1/2 hr no matter what time of day. Good luck!
