Has anyone shot a red dot scope on there slug guns. If so what did you think of it and what do you recomend. Everyone ones advice would be greatly appreciated. Brandon

I have a cheap Tasco Red dot on my turkey gun and I absolutely love that thing. I have shot many a turk with it over the years and it has never knocked off zero. My brother-in-law has the same Tasco on his slug gun and wouldn't trade it for anything. I have shot deer with the Tasco brand as well as the more expensive Millet red dot scopes. Both work great. Red dots are probably the fastest target-acquiring sights out there for any kind of gun: be it turkey gun, slug gun or handgun. It doesn't matter where your head is on the stock of the gun....if you can see the dot, you're good to go.

Never put one on my slug gun, but do have one (aimpoint) on my Benelli SBE and love it! Just put that red dot on his neck and Ol' Mr. Tom is done...nothing faster or easier to see.

(just always remember to pack an ex. battery, it's easy to forget to turn them off in the excitement sometimes)

I have 2 trijicon dots. They use a piece of tritium for the power supply and the dot will not turn off. The person I purchased them from they should stay lit for 15 years. They are pretty sweet...

I have used a red dot BSA for over 8 years. I have never had a problem with it excepted last year when it got really cold and I knocked it on a tree and cracked my front lense. But I got another one from old Howattandhawken

I've used a Tasco ProPoint red dot on my slug gun for years now and it is fantastic. Fast target acquisition and very accurate. Battery life has never been a problem, I've had it on from the opening of shooting hours to the end for as many as 10 days in a fall of deer hunting (icluding the january season) and never had the batteries die. That said I generally put a fresh batteries in prior to hunting season each fall and always keep an extra set in my vest just in case.

Make sure any one you're looking at has adjustable brightness of the dot so you can dial it down in the low light of early morning/late afternoon and turn it up during brighter days.
