reducing picures question

I have several pics I would like to post but it says they are too big. We reduce them but it still says they are too big or it takes too long too do so it cuts me off. Any suggestion would be helpful!!!!!

you need to have them in jpg format, my digital camcorder usually saves them as bmp which results in a huge file size. i also use a 640 X 480 resolutions size that usually puts me around 65 -75 kb, hope this helps
