i've been thinking about changing releases. i like calipers. i've been looking at scotts. what are the +/- of single caliper vs. double.
carters are too $$$$, and a back tension is out of the question. trigger (hunting) style is my only option.

any opinions?

Troy - I have been using the same Carter release for 5 years now. The carter Lockjaw. They are not that bad priced. Go look at them at CIA.

The carter lack jaw/ 1 and 2 shot are great. They are very durable and have no trigger travel in them. They are definetly worth the money. Troy I also have a brand new tru-ball that I will sell to you for $20. This thing has never been shot.

TruBall Short & Sweet, Copper Head are a couple of my favorites. You'll know when the right release comes into play.

I still shoot with the same old release I started with. It's a Cobra caliper style that I modified the strap on. I probably need to upgrade but I just can't seem to give up the old thing.

I'm using the TruBall Rackmaster because it doesn't have that metal or hard plastic sleeve that you grip on when pulling back. Just a couple pieces of rope, flexibility is just awesome. Modified the strap as well to something a little larger and snugs down better. If I were to change I'd definately go with Scott release.

I have been using a Tru Ball prodiamond T handle release for 3 years now and like it a lot. I never did like the wrist straps on the common ones out there.

I bought my son a Fletcher Shorty and I am going to get myself one. I used a Scott wolf in the past and really liked it. Currently I am using a Tru Ball Rackmaster with the loopmaster head. It is great for fair weather conditions but is to difficult to use with gloves on and will soon be a spare.

Shooting a scott little mongoose...love it!! I think most will do just fine, although I would stay away from anything that has velcro!

Bought my first Winn wrist style release 8 years ago and it's still going strong. Very comfortable and also helps me pull 6-8 lbs. more than I could otherwise.

DOR...what've you got against velcro?
