While last years rendezvous was a great success, we want this years to be THE EVENT of the Midwest. One of our main objectives is to make this event one for the entire family. Dates is June 11,12th & 13th. We need your serious input on what you would like to see happen. Since many of you didn't know that we have one of the top clays ranges in Iowa and didn't bring your guns last year we are adding several clays games to this years agenda. In addition to the regular trap, skeet, 5 stand and sporting clays games, these are some of the new ideas we've come up with. The 40-3D target range will be even better than last year.
Handgun competition
Muzzleloader competition
Shotgun slug comp.
Archery (other than the 40 target range)
(All legite. ways to take a deer in Iowa)
These contests may be done individually or as an Ironman where scores from all 4 events will be tallied.

Turkey & Deer calling contest
Big Rack Contest
Wing shooters contest(with bow, bring those flu-flu arrows).
Possible canoeing contest for kids.
Possible fishing contest for kids.
Kids 3-D archery shoot?? Any interest here???
Outdoor, Wild Game Cook Off?? Any interest???
And of course, the Grand Finally, The 4am Hoot-Off!!!

Other things to do in the area. Upper Iowa canoeing, trout & bass fishing, Decorah shopping.
We have displays from various outdoor vendors. All vendors are welcome to inquire about setting up. We have limited camping space availible. If you want to camp, respond A.S.A.P. For those of you who weren't here last year, please check out our web site. www.chasetheadventure.com. We are a full service, Open Year Round facility with an 800 acre playground!!
I hope you are all getting as excited about this event as we are!!!!

i'm up for the wild game cook off, that would be a blast, not to mention a great excuse for some hardcore gluttony.

and as always, the 4 a.m. hootoff.

Thanks for this info Hogie. I was wondering what kinda family things were there or in the area. Since it is probably 6 hours from here (4 from here to Des Moines), if I made the trip it probably would be our family vacation. Earlier this winter when I met Huskerinbadgerland he said it was definatly an event to consider attending. Don't know if my wife would apprciate the 4am Hoot Off on a family vacation but I could probaly get her to let me stay until 2 am or so.

Uff Da Hogie, you forgot the Vesterheim! Any true Son of Norway would crawl on his kness to the front door. Then a walk down Decorah's beautiful main street to watch them make Lesfa at the bakery and then on down to Mabes for a slice or two. There is a guy on one of the edges of town that has old military Jeeps and lots of parts. I think its the norhtwest part of town near two highways. I was up there for a wedding a couple of years ago, spotted the Jeeps. Stopped to take a look and ended up with a T20 transfer case that I had been looking for. It was a good "Jeepin" day. I think they also have some off road trails up there.

Hoagie--Rimfire, clays, muzzleloaders and archery with a KING of the MOUNTAIN Prize for best over all in all four catagories. It's affordable and every one has access to these weapons.Give me a call with questions and I'll help out if possible. m

That would be the ironman...all 4 events. i'll give ya a shout and we'll figure it out.

an ironman would be fun...will somebody provide the extra weapons for those of us who do not have access to them all??

Ah, Limb, oh never mind. Sometimes ya just have to let a pitch go by instead of hitting it outa the park.

The 'Bonker

for those that are short on weaponry, we can help you out there. no problem
