A few weeks ago I mentioned that me and the wife had well over 150 ticks on us from hanging a camera.
I bought all sorte of permathrine and I picked sawyers to treat my clothes with last night as I had today off.
I plowed through the tick infested mess and only stopped for a min to check my pants for ticks.
I watched 3 ticks crawl up my pants and stop and then fall to the ground. This stuff is the real deal and I won't be turkey hunting and hanging cameras without it.
Thanks everyone on IW for the heads up on this stuff

I'm sure this has been addressed but I still gotta ask... what are the health risks associated with such potent chemicals on your clothes? Seems to me this is some wicked strong stuff, which stands to reason it could pack a punch on humans as well?

Skin problems?, etc.? Carcinogen?

Thomas eats it so it's gotta be safe, right?

It says to apply it in a well ventelated area and don't get it on your skin.
I believe once its dry it loses its affects to people but concidering that ticks are very small it affects them 50, 000 times more than it would a human.
As long as I don't grow a 3rd arm or something I'm going to keep using it, it has got to be more safe than having hundreds of ticks crawling on you.
I looked up a lot of info about it and if diluted enough it can be used on animals as well.
I'd be more worried about the coating on seeds during planting and inhaling round up wheil spraying plots than the affects of this stuff on your clothes. Unless I hear different.

It is used on humans for treatment for scabies 5% and head lice 1% concentration. I'm not to concerned if some gets on my skin. It sure keeps the ticks off.

Walmart carries it or you can get at almost any sporting goods store.

I will second the recommendation for this stuff.

I've used it on my lice, scabies and even crabs! :D:way:

Make sure clothes are dry like others said. It's derived from a flowering plant BUT just because of that I suppose doesn't mean it's totally safe. I won't tell anyone it's 100% safe and I can't do that with any product out there. I feel comfortable with what I've read, feel better bout it than chems I put on skin and like it better than Lymes disease.

Buy it in concentrate, make your own for a tiny fraction of the cost. Like I said, I was doing $100+ a year and now I'm down to maybe $5 to treat all my clothes for a year.

I ended up treating 3 sets of clothes to rotate, will be hanging new sets for the next few weeks, spraying plots and most generally be out in the woods, I'm more than happy with the results so far. If my hair falls out or something ill make sure to give everyone a heads up

It's an organo phosphate, so yes it can be dangerous, it would neurological problems. So I would just read the warnings and use as directed and it should be fine.

Where do you buy the concentrate and what is the product called?

I actually sprayed sawyers in the can form on my skin years ago . I thought it was regular bug spray it made me sick feeling.

I have used the concentrate on my clothes, and good sucess wiht ticks,,but Chiggers,,,some still make it thru. Chiggers are actually supposed to be microscopic ticks. I think some people attract these "bugs from Satan",,more than others. I attract them big time. I use Skin-so-Soft,Absorbeen Jr,Deet, everything and still end up with some burning-itching bites. By the way,,if you do have Chigger bites, best treatment I have found, is washing skin with soda,,then spraying with Benedril. Helps clense the skin and stops itching for awhile.
