Land of the Whitetail
Anyone been to this in the past? I am thinking about going this year. I go to nearly every 3d shoot in the central part of the state, never traveled to far, but with this one being a 100 target course it has my attention. Plus be neat to see some new targets I've never shot before. Bit pricey though and bigger drive for me. Is it something you can expect to get through in one day? I thought I heard once that there is a course up in northeast IA where they put replica racks of the top 10 like all time B&C deer on some buck targets, is this that one?

I was thinking maybe doing one course Saturday and the other Sunday and maybe camping and bringing my boat to do some fishing at Vogel Lake. Anyone fished there before, as long as it is okay to fill some time as far as fishing if I could just catch some bluegills or something that could kill some time.
 
It is definitely worth the trip! It is a bit pricey but you will shoot some custom targets that you've never seen/shot before. They guys up at EVA do an excellent job with corse set up as well as novelties and raffles.
As far as shooting the whole thing in 1 day, I'll say it can be done but it is quite a task. There are 2 sides to the range, expect both up and down hill shots/walks as well as some in the open as well as in the timber! Hope that helps.
 
The shoot is well worth it. Those guys put in alot of work. The lake is decent for bass, lots of small crappie to be caught, and if you wanna bowfish it is full of carp, both common and grass. The lake turns over early summer and I haven't fished it in a month but you should be able to catch some fish. The campground both the primitive and electric fill up really early that weekend though

Yes it does, no full hookup spots available on the volga website. We r staying at another campground a few minutes away..
