Richland Teenager Suffers Minor Injury While Hunting Deer Sunday
DES MOINES - A Richland teenager received a minor injury late Sunday morning after getting struck by a deer slug while hunting deer in Jefferson County.
Nazareth Rambo, 15, was hunting in a party of seven or eight hunters, when a shotgun slug fired by another member of the party passed through a deer and struck him in the ankle. The incident occurred north of Batavia at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Rambo was treated and released from Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
