Hey all. My wife and I were planning on leaving Topeka tonight and heading to the Classic for the weekend but according to everything I've heard the roads are all closed? We will be coming up I 35. My parents have already cancelled their plans to meet us as they are coming from WI. Looking for a couple of people from around the Des Moines area who could let me know if the roads are as bad as they sound? Thanks
 
You should be fine,since you are coming up from the south on I-35.I-35 is only closed north of DSM.The wind is going to be your big factor.Just take your time,and be safe.
 
The reports I have been seeing have said that the blizzard conditions will exist until about 6 p.m. today. Sounds like you might be okay as long as you're not coming in during the day today.
