I have a question for ya'll....I'm thinking about taking out the hoyt this year a little bit and we have some sledgehammers already but i normally shoot 125 grains.

Have you guys that normally shoot 125's noticed a lot of difference by the extra 25 grains? I shoot an ultra tech at about 64 lbs. with a 29 1/2" draw (im 17 and about 6'5")

we also have a few gobbler getters i might try, and some spitfire 125s that ive filed down the crusher tip on and rounded it off to slow up the impact some....what do you guys think?

I think you'll notice significant difference in your impact with the 150 grain sledgehammers. If you go that way make sure they're close, 20 yards or under shouldn't have too much difference.

When I sighted mine in from 125 grain heads to the 150 grain heads, 20 yards there was hardly no differences, but 30 started to drop a bit!

you may want to rethink what the mudster said if your shootin a hoyt. 25 gr heavier will probably drop a foot or 2 in 20 yards with that slow a bow....

I'm pretty sure this is one of those times that I should practice...

Correct me if I'm wrong... don't you shoot a Parker?

hwy my hoyt has treated me well through the past 3 years, and the 2 years it served my dad till he upgraded to a newer hoyt...and then he bought another lol...but anyways I'm thinking going only with the 125's and not really screwing with the 150's because between now and then I really wont have any time to practice with the 150 since baseball is offically in full swing even though im out till monday with my back....o well i'll be back on the mound come monday!

I play for Urbandale high school im a pitcher and right fielder.....our season is never over here with litterally out of the 12 months we are practicing 10 of them....We pitch september and october after our season is over and play some fall ball...then come the first weekend of Jan. we start hitting indoors and about the third week we start pitching indoors in the early mornings all the way through spring break, then after spring break we start outdoor pitcher catcher while playing spring leauge games on the weekends and after 3 weeks of outdoor p/c on may 2nd we start normal practices that will run all the way up to august....in 4 months i'll either play or be present at 71 high school games not including substate and state games....so yeah lol i dont have a lot of free time anymore any time of the year baseball is goin!

Yeah sorry for the long post im in study hall and im extremely bored outta my mind!

Great. Is coach Barton still there? I played for Hoover and was on his AAU team spring of 89. I pitched for him on that team.

yes sir Coach is still there....534 career wins as a high school coach and still going strong!
