How do most of you buy Glycosate, spelled wrong, but you know,,round-up/ Other than the 15 dollar concentrate bottles from walmarts.?

Co-op, $10-12 a gallon BUT I buy 30 gallon drums. I'd buy a 30 gallon drum and split with some buddies. $10-12 should be do-able if you shop around. I think 2.5 gallons are like $45 at Tractor supply roughly.

Farm and fleet stores usually have 2.5 gallon jugs at decent prices or a local co-op. Generic is always cheaper and gives the same results.

If your good freinds with a farmer he will probably help you out as long as you don't catch him on a day he is busy. Most have bulk containers with a meter, I buy 41% Roundup Power Max for $14 a gallon that way.

Thanks guys,,I just called Heartland Co-op here near DesMoines and they said for a generic brand,,42.50 for 2 1/2 gal. Guess I'll keep shopping around.

you probably aren't going to find much cheaper than that if you're not buying in 30 gallon drums.

Rpund-up

I have about 2.5 acres of beans to spray round-up on this weekend, how much will I need....ATV with sprayer.

What is the preferred mix again (roundup to water)?

Golden furrow is 14.84 a gal, for generic brand. Better. definately better than the 15.00 for small amount at walmart or menards...

I would use between 32 and 48 oz. per acre.

I go to the one in Muscatine. Theres one in Clinton, Cedar Falls, and Davenport also. I have seen similar prices at Orschlens in the past too. You got to catch the stuff on sale, which they seem to run fairly offen. Farm King in Burlington had a bunch of it but it was like $40 the last time I was in there.

I use the "pronto" brand also called Big & Tuff around 50$ for 2.5 gal at tractor supply works very good, even faster than roundup

Ask a local farmer where you can buy from someone local. Bring your own empty jugs and cash and I bet you can do much better or in the neighborhood of what Skip said.
