Rubber Boot smell

Anyone have any remedies to help cure the new rubber boot smell? Im stilling wearing my old ones at this point, because the new boots always seem to take at least a year to lose that new smell.

I learned on this site to find a mud puddle (good luck with that this year) or a nice fresh cow pie and cover them. I try to do this on the way to the stand but probably wouldn't hurt to do this and let them set. Rubber is always breaking down so it will leave sent.

Doesn’t Ozonic’s make a rubber boot liner?????

;)

just start wearing them, im not so sure that smell bothers the deer all that much anyways.

i always turn mine upside down on some stakes outside and leave them sit for a couple days, usually does the trick

just scrub them with baking soda then sit outside for a day seems to work or just buy some mucks and you want have to worry about it

You guys will laugh but I have an Ozone machine that stays in my hunting closet and it kills the rubber scent. Bought one of the huge boundary waters water-proof duffel bags from Cabelas and it smelled like fresh rubber so bad it about gagged me - half hour in the "ozone room" and it was gone. Closet is lined with cedar but doesn't smell like cedar at all anymore after running the ozone machine. Scoff all you want but they work - I dont' have one to take to the tree but think it would help as well.

I bought a log 6 a couple weeks ago. Plumbed it into a tote and had some clothes that were in another tote from last year with a fresh earth scent wafer. Ran the machine for 30 minutes and no more fresh earth smell. Ozone is supposed to break down rubber but I've read that it would take a continuous flow of ozone for a LONG period of time to do it. Will be putting all my gear in there from now on. Boots, packs, etc.

I don't have one for the tree either but I like the fact that I don't have to wash my clothes as much. Probably won't at all unless they get staind with blood or something.

Or you can just use Nose Jammer.:D:way:
