Safety Vest's

I bought an HSS safety vest and it is one of my best purchases as far as I'm concerned. It goes on easy plus has lots of other features. There are other brands on the market I'm sure are good too. Do yourself a favor and check them out. But most of all, USE A SAFETY HARNESS OF SOME KIND.

Hey Moose.....what does HSS stand for? I am also interested in a safety vest. I have looked at the one by Rocky. Very pricey and it was heavier than ****!

I recently bought the Hunter Safety System as well I am very pleased. A chimpanzee can put it on

The only problems I have with it is it a little too warm to wear it on those 70 degree days, and I did not like the strap it comes with that goes around the tree. I got rid of the factory strap and am using the rope and carabineer that came with my Summit Goliath, it gives you more room to move in your tree stand and it is much quicker to adjust.

Got one myself. It is almost scary but have the same set-up as ShedhunterMD. It is warm but other than that, I can not complain.

HSS Hunters Safety System. I think Cabelas carry them. I got the reversable one. Camo and orange on the inside. They are warm but there's more cold days to hunt than warm ones.

Also, they have large pockets and smaller breast pockets and a D ring and a drag strap to drag the deer out with. Shedhunter is right. They are a cinch to put on.

Thanks Moose, I'll definitely look at getting that particular one. Good luck in the stand and stay safe!

Just wondering, do they have to much stuff up front, (straps, buckles, rings, etc,) so that your bow string can catch, when you shoot?

Cabela's also sells a nice and inexpensive version without pockets. Just orange fabric that is open on the sides. The front secures with Velcro. I picked one up at their Sidney store on my way back from hunting antelope in Wyoming. I think it cost a whopping $5.95. Good vest. Gets the job done and meets the requirements of the hunting regulations for firearms season. Not sure if the "economy" vest is in the catalog, though.

I bought an HSS vest and sent it back due to the weight. It would be heck on warm days. It did go on easy though. No way you could put it on wrong.

I'm planning on going with the Seat O the Pants harness so I can use it all season without the added bulk and weight.

Stupid, stupid. I can see now that you guys are talking about some kind of a tree stand safety vest, not the big game blaze orange safety vest that first comes to my mind when I hear the phrase "safety vest". Please excuse my ignorance and I'm sorry if I threw anyone off track with my original post.
