Good luck today! Looking forward to seeing a giant in the ground a little later!

So far only a 130ish class 10 and a spike. Very slow here- just waiting for that bruiser. I have higher hopes this evening as the neighbor is picking his corn right now! Very windy as well- hope it picks up

Any poacher shots yet? I used to have a farm down there, lots of road hunters!!

Not yet today but right after sunset you start hearing them. Sad and pisses me off. Who knows how many trophies are taken each year from spot lighting at night

I moved properties and decided to hunt from the ground just inside the timber. Set my decoy out in a grass field along a river bottom and at 1:45 I touched the horns together and on a dead run comes out a absolute stud. I mean a Giant of a freaking deer and he gets 60 yards from me- about 30 from decoy and runs off in other direction. Wind in my favor- why would he run from a decoy? Since its only 2 think he could make his way back this evening??

Possible, he's big for a reason, maybe recognized the setup??

Grab that decoy and set it inside the tent with you...he didn't like it the first time, he won't like a second time either...call him back in!!!

Yes the blind was covered and I didn't even reach for me bow yet- I went and pulled him inside the timber line and will see if be comes back at dusk. Neighbor is picking beans now on the other side of the river bottom so we will see what happens- he would def have been the largest deer I have ever shot at His neck was all swollen and he was a giant. What a rush- only wish he would be tagged!!

I am willing to usher a guess that he either saw the blind or the decoy wasn't set in a wide open enough area. Sometimes they get spooked when they suddenly see the decoy. Make sure that the decoy is properly sprayed down. Also, add white strips of plastic bag to the ears and tail to give the decoy some added movement.

That is a hard thing to deal with but at least you know he's in the area.

I have used a decoy this year but little disappointed in deer interaction with it. Granted, the wind and weather have not cooperated and the decoy keeps falling over. I had a spike stare at it and get down wind of it a couple of times.
