First let me say, I am new to this forum. I am really very envious of you IA residents. You are very lucky to have such a great state to hunt whitetails in. I have never been there, but have been buying PP's and hope to get drawn and make a trip in 2011 to bowhunt in November. I understand that there are some resentment from some IA residents towards out-of-staters and I guess thats understandable. However, I will be limited to public land or whatever private land I can obtain permission with a handshake. I'm not coming to ruin your hunting.
I was just wondering what anyone can tell me about the Saylorville WMA in Dallas, Polk, and Boone counties. Not asking for anyones "honeyholes", just any information that you might find useful. Is this an area that holds some big mature bucks, bowhunting pressure, accessibility, etc...?
Is Saylorville WMA worth my effort or is there another area, county, public land that you would recommend?
Thanks for any help, and btw you guys are welcome in KY anytime!!
