Hi All,
Well my Scent Lok Suit is getting pretty old now and i've got some money to spend. What would you guys recommend. There are so many choices now? I'm kind of leaning towards the Scent Blocker suit, but the Gore-Tex Suppresent intrigues me too. What do you guys like and recommend?

I have the scent blocker bug light suit I do like it more than scent lok, but washing is still a major problem. Some of the carbon comes out in the wash it is easy to say dont wash often but kill a few deer and your covered in blood. Is

there a suit that is more washable on the market yet?
 
I have a lot of supprescent gear and love it. I have a lightweight windstopper supprescent outfit, a goretex supprescent outfit for rainy weather and heavyweight supprescent goretex bibs and parka. If you want to buy just one suit, get one of the carbon liner suits, I wear one of those with all of my supprescent for added effects.
 
Is the supprescent the kind that you don't have to worry about the carbon coming out or is that a gimic? Don't they say that its embedded in the fabric or what?
 
Supprescent is the way to go. Most the guys I work with use Supprescent. They don't glue the carbon into the lining like Scent Loc and Scent Blocker, hence it doesn't come out when it gets washed. Supprescent has a lining of carbon fabric that won't wear away on you. I very HIGHLY recommnd the Supprescent as it's what I use.

So if i decide to go with the supprescent clothes, what model would you recommend, also do they have a website that i can look at all of their models that they have. Thanks a bunch. Also i was just watching the Knight and Hale show and they were using that powder that makes the scent go away what can you tell me about that stuff? Thanks a lot guys

Gore, Inc. only makes the Supprescent material and not the actual clothes themselves. Company's then buy the material from them and make their own clothing line.

Muddy & 220, I currently ware the Northernlite
Scent Blocker Plus.
I really like it because it is quiet,soft,and water proof. Had hunter in mind when built. Has a pocket under the flap that cover main zipper. For wallet/lic. to keep them dry and easy to get at. Has arm guard built in that can be switched for right or left hand shooter. Has good size pockets as well.
The bib pants can be switched from bibs
to reg. pants just by zipping off bib part. The thing I like most is how free moving it is and quiet.
Could you tell me more about the Supprescent as I just may want to try this next time I buy. How ever no one in my area has it . So I can't go look it over and before I order it would be great to get some more details if you don't mind. Are the pants / Coat free moving & quite , any thing added with hunter in mind? I know in the past my old gore-tec stuff was not all that quiet. All so I have a problem shooting my bow with anything that is stiff and bulges out in the arms. This is something I really like about my Northernlite Scent Blocker and is what I'm talking about when I mention free moving /soft and quiet.

The supprescent is just a lining in a garment. Manufacturers such a Browning, Whitewater Outdoors, Cabelas, and Bass Pro Shops have this lining sewn inside like a scentlok or scent blocker suit. It keeps the wind out, breaths well, allows you to remain relativly scent free (none of them will totally eliminate your scent) and is quiet.
The breakdown of what I have is Browning Featherweight Hydrofleece (goretex version) parka and pants from basspro and they are awesome. The browning Supprescent Micro fleece (windstopper version) Jacket and pants, great for early season, and Browning Hydrofleece ultra 4 in 1 parka and bibs for late season. You see, I am a browning clothing fanatic but the stuff is top quality to me, quiet, and durable. For this scent adsorbing clothing to be completely effective, it needs to be reactivated frequently in the dryer, keep the outside of the garment scent free with commercial sprays, and use the gloves, hats, boots, and facemasks available. I have had great luck with scent adsorbing clothing, otherwise I would not spend the extra money on it but there are times when deer will nail you and you won't know why....Hope that helps MXZ with the supprescent Q's you had

I have one question you may be able to help with. Kinda already know the answer but have to ask cause I have both scent-lok (old ) don't use anymore.
And my Northernlite with Scent Blocker and I use and like this and sure agree that it helps you beat the nose to some degree. Do you feel that your supprescent works as well ,same or better than scent blocker when both are new? And do I understand this correctly that the supprescent will not fall off in time as both scent lok & scent blocker?? How often do you reactivate yours? Oppppsss more than one question but I'm done now and Thanks Again...A huntN friend from Vermont MXZ.
 
I think the supprescent works just as well as the scent blocker and scent lok but may last longer because it is embedded into the laminates. As far as reactivation, once a week or more if I am wearing them a lot. I do wash them in the carbon clothes wash about once every two weeks. My understanding of supprescent is it is laminated into the fabric and can't come out. I really like the fact I can dress lighter and maintain the same comfort level and a warm jacket with essentiall no bulk. The stuff is that much thinner. Hope that helps
