Scope Covers....

THA4

A Few Steps Ahead Of You
all i have used in the past are the two covers that are attached with a rubber band...... the ones that come with the scope...

that gets cumbersome and not very efficient.
and....i dont like to leave the lenses exposed as they seem to ice/fog up, especially after this past weekend.

what do you guys use while you are hunting???

hey Limb,
thats exactly what im looking for....

where can a guy pick those up??
or do i have to order them on line

I have them on all my scopes too. I bought em at Bass Pro.

Also, Leopold makes like a neoprene sock that goes over the whole scope. Not as convenient as the flip lids, but serves the same purpose.

I have the Butler Creek on all mine, but when we have freezing rain like last week I will put on the neoprene shock because I have had the covers freeze and not pop up when I have hit the button.

Butler Creek makes three different models: Blizzard, Flip-Open, and Multi-Flex. I was wondering which one's you guys were using. The Blizzards are the only one's that are see-thru. I've been getting the Blizzards but was wondering what the other one's were like.

and do they fit over the adjustable eye relief on the back of the Monarchs??

ok.
i went to Wally world cuz i remember seeing these there...

i assumed a certian size was required to fit different scopes, but there was very little definition to how to figure out what size to get.....

so i grabbed what looked right, and i will be seeing when i get home.....

i just looked at the size match up chart in the packaging and to me it looked like Japaneese.....

ill try these, but ill bet ill have to figure out this mumbo jumbo at some point.....

why cant this be easy!!!!!!!!!!!!???

It took a couple of trys to get mine right. I ordered online, don't rememebr from who now, but the way I measured the scope musta been wrong cause the one they said should fit as way small.

Also, the rear cover kinda screws with the focus and power adjustments. I can't remember the issues I had, I haven't picked up my ARs in a year or so, but I do rememebr it being akward for some reason.

The 'Bonker

They fit fine on both of my monarchs, Thomas. I had the guy at Bass Pro pull a scope from behind the counter. Then we used it to get the correct match for my scope that was at home.

Ok, so i went to Walmart and they did have some of these...
but i got the wrong ones, and upon further review, Walmard didnt have the correct size for my Nikon Monarch....
so i returned both...

i went to Sportsmans tonight and was helped by a gentleman who seemed to know what he is doing....he asked what scope i had and picked the two packages off the rack....

i asked him to show me how to read the chart....and i then realized he really didnt know.....

long story short, i picked up and brought these home...
the front one fits, but the eye cover is too small.....

i now have to return it and bring my gun in to make sure they fit....i guess it would have been smart to bring it with me tonight....

i might write a letter...yes a great product, but toooooo damn hard to figure out the match....this shouldnt be so hard!!!

im pissed....

If they carry your scope at Sportsmans, have them try them on one before you buy.Know how you feel ,I had the same problem with the first set I bought. After that I came across one of there charts that had pictures of the actual diffrent sizes that you held up to your scope.I have no idea where it is at now or if they still even use it?

I asked if they had a Monarch to test them out on, and of course they did not....

but the guy who apparently knew what he was doing guessed a Buckmasters Series was the same as the Monarch.....its his job, i trusted him....

well the buckmasters series is not the same as the Monarch...

oh well....

guess ill get the one i need the next time im in Des Moines....

It was probably the same guy I asked about choke tubes a month ago. He took me to the board and handed me the chart and said "here you go,I never have been able to figure out how to read this thing." /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif
