Scout Guard 550 question

Well my new little toy arrived today! I do have this question though...

With the remote attached and using the "Shot" button the camera takes a pretty good picture inside and outside, in the light and so forth.

While in "live" mode the camera takes a good picture if it is dark, as in the lights are turned off in the room, dark. However, with the lights on OR outside in what is still daylight hours the picture is VERY washed out, mostly white.

Can someone clue me in as to what I am doing wrong? It is as if the camera is set to "night mode" or something and is set to take good pictures in low light conditions, but is treating the light as kryptonite or something. :)

Help! Otherwise, I think this is a pretty neat little camera and I am looking forward to getting it out there in the timber.

Sounds like the IR filter isn't working properly, happened to mine (straight out of the box). I sent it back and they replaced the camera. Give the company you purchased it from a call. Hopefully you can send it back to them instead of HCO like the warranty information tells you to.

Sorry, better now than September....

Call the company. They are very good at working with customers on this. It should not be doing this. If you do not hear anything let me know and I will contact them. I deal with them all the time.

I just put mine out last week for the first time and I am getting the same exact thing at "night". The color pics in the day are excellent, but those night ones suck. I wondered if I was doing something wrong as well and was going to ask the question here pretty soon after I pull the card again this weekend.
