Scrape dripper and mock scrapes questions...

I have been hunting for several years but due to huge hunting pressure in my area recently, I am experimenting with mock scrapes. I was wondering about my dripper; I have it surrounded by leaves and I am not sure if it needs sun for the warmth. Does anyone know? I am a bit excited as my mock has become well used in the last couple of weeks.

The drippers I use don't require sunlight. All they need is an upward temperature change to make the air inside expand & push the scent out of the nozzle. Therefore it drips during the day, not night. (supposed to try to get the buck to visit the scrape during shooting hours) Mine will hold 4oz of scent, BUT for these to work correctly & reliably you're only supposed to put in 1 oz of scent. I have to refill mine w/ 1oz about every 6 days. These drippers work great.
