I snagged some vintage outdoors magazines from the 30's and 40's and while I was skimming through one of them I came across this article.
Pretty funny and unsafe if you ask me!

Sorry for the mondo size pics, not sure how to make em smaller. In the last picture the guy is drinking from the puddle of water and the caption was something along the lines of "Thirsty work, this deer carrying stuff is exhausting."

Good ole days, not so good. Hey,,I am still primitive, I use a deer cart. No wimpy ORV!

Forget drinking from the wilds too. Back in my 20s I was hiking In WY, in the Teton Wilderness area. Drank from a crystal, rushing waterfall, 12 miles from civilization. Got Giardia! Sick for a month!
