Senator Needs To Hear From Hunters

A DNR official(I'll leave him nameless) made a presentation to Senate Natural Resource Committee yesterday. Pitching for more NR deer tags. One senator seemed to agree with him on more tags. The Senator also thought it was time to treat nr landowners same as residents landowners.

If you would like to send Sen. Merlin Bartz an email here is address.

Since 1978 discrimination against non-residents has been constitutional. To protect the herd; appropriate actions should be taken. What is this guy thinkin? /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif Take a look at Baldwin vs. Montana.... get a clue man treat em the same there goes Iowa DNR

Why keep the DNR official nameless? If he is willing to voice his opinion about NR tag allocations, then he should be willing to hear the criticism from the state in which he is employed. No offense, but sometimes a name is a good thing, that way we can contact the individual and voice our opinions. It's time we stand up for our rights, voice our opinions, and keep what we LOVE! Our bow hunting heritage......

I gotta agree with Ike. Let's hear the name of the DNR official. We help pay his salary, so why noT hear his opinion. If he is willing to speak his opinion, he should be willing to hear OURS!

By the way, thanks elkhunter for the heads up. I appreciate it, and email will be sent by myself!

Thanks for the heads up Randy. I will get something sent out this weekend.

I must agree with several others, it’s time that the hunting public knows the names of the state officials that are promoting an increase in NR tags and such. After all, we do pay their salaries! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif We need to let these loyal, FOI, DNR administrators know how we feel. They should be shamed right out of office!

We pay there salaries plus vote these people into office.
Sometimes they need to be reminded like Randy said a NR will not be voting for them in the coming years.
After they get more NR in then they will raise our licenses. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

There are people who work for the DNR that don't necessarily agree with what their bosses tell them to say. I wasn't at the meeting, although I should have been, so I don't know who got to play Billy the Boil Sucker for the DNR and propose higher numbers of NR tags. I imagine Randy is trying to protect the innocent. I have had some private conversations with the guys in green and none of then think an increase in NR tags will be of any benefit to common Iowans.

I have been in situations before that I had to tout the party line knowing full well the party line wasn't what I personally supported. Sometimes you just gotta hold your nose, do what you were told to do and hope like hell that people understand, don't take it personally and that the party line doesn't come to pass.
