Sense of Smell

Do you think a deers sense of smell is stronger earlier or later in the season as the weather changes and gets cooler or do you think it stays the same???What I am saying is do they pick things up better when it is warmer or cooler??

I want to add to your question a little bit... When it is below freezing (like it often is up here in Minnesota), do scent attractants which may be frozen give off smell? You can easily smell a hot cup of coffee but if you freeze it solid, can you smell it? I would think the same would go for deer attractants. What do you guys think?

Just my opinion....a deer's sence of smell remains about the same year round but as the temp turns colder, we as humans likely do not produce as much scent due to the pores on our skin closing up tighter vs the warm days of sweating and pores being open. I tend to get winded less in the later season than in early season.

as for the scent freezing up, just use one of the air activated hand warmers wrapped around the scent canister held in place by a rubber band.

trx, dude, where did you get supertec's first grade picture???
