setting up my bow - opinions wanted

I have purchased some Sims ultra dampeners & Sims string leeches. How far away from the pulleys do I put these things?

Also am looking into buying a Sims stabilizer. Worth it or not? My last bow had a small, cheap, heavy stabilizer.

Also am going to get an Ultra-Nok. I had just plain noks on my last bow. Anyone have experience w/ the Ultra-Nok XL? Do these work well w/ Trufire releases?

What's the point of the string loop you put your hand through when you grasp the bow?

Thanks

3/4" to 1" on the dampeners; directions should tell you. On the string leeches they should be about an inch from where the pulley string serving meets the string. I would have a proshop install all of this as you need a bowpress to properly install your leeches anyway. I am assuming that you do not own a bowpress.

I would use a string loop to hook your release up to and forget the metal ultra nock.

So that you can use good form and shoot your bow with an open hand and not fear dropping your bow upon firing the bow.

Hardcore said it all! The leeches work.. but overtime, wear out and sometimes break (thats what happened to my leeches on my hoyt)Thats why i bought cat whiskers!

Stabilizer... I'd love to buy one.. but if u get one thats too heavy for ur comfort, your shots will be off! I found that out when shooting with the Sims Stabilizer.. just find one that fits your comfort and doesnt weigh the front end of the bow down a LOT!

I would also recommend the string loops, quicker and easier! (at least thats what i think!)

And the string loop for the hand while grasping the bow... hardcore said it! Shooting with an open hand.. its good to have one of those so u dont drop the bow outta ur hand while shooting! Just another safety deal!!

Ther cat whiskers are the BEST string silencer that I have used. Bowhunter500 is right on and I have heard many guys on forums comment the same.

I dont use any string silencers and my bow is pretty quiet, oh and I gain 5 fps.

But if you feel you need them then great. Shoot them without and then install them and see if it makes a difference.
