Just got an email from a friend of mine and his son shot a shed buck today. How many bucks will be shed by next weekend. Bucks shedding this early make me reconsider my late muzzelloader tag. I hope some big boys keep their head gear for a couple more weeks.
 
There are always a few early ones, but usually they are not, especially with a low stress winter like we have had so far. If you are hunting bucks, you'll see some. If you are hunting does, make sure they are does before pulling the trigger.
 
I had a guy bring me a buck to mount today that he had pulled one side off. It was a 150 inch 11 point. I think the dry weather puts more stress on these whitetails then we realize.
 
There are always some loose racks during Muzzy season but this year seems a little worse. I pulled some cards this weekend and found a couple that were missing both sides. One of which was a mature 10 that I have been watching! One less for Muzzy season!!! Not sure anyone knows why this happens. These deer on our farm have everything they need. Great shelter, food and water so I can't see that being the issue. Must have something to due with the warm weather. Maybe that means the new racks are growing early and will be larger for next season!

Just hope there are some decent bucks left for Muzzy season!
