Shotgun Hunters Please Read!!

Well maybe he should check out all the facts before he starts running down shtgun hunters. And maybe if you need to protect him you should take him hunting and teach him how to ethically take deer with a shotgun and teach him how to promote the sport of deer hunting not tear it down with false rumors. Maybe he just learned a valuable lesson.

rattle them in,running and gunning during shot gun season is the way 90% of the hunters do it and there is nothing unethical about it.
A better choice of words would be deer drives with shots at close range hopefully.
With many shotgun hunters its a faimly get together.
Now there are some that hunt by them selfs in a stand and thats ok.Their choice.
I dont think Jason was trying to put shotgun hunters down,he was just stating a fact that this is true for the most part.
also them sabots are over priced and a regular slug will do its job at a close range for a lot less.
We hunt the way we want and stay in the limits of the law.I dont see any need to make anything more out of it.

I'll interject briefly. For those fairly new to the site there are basically 2 subjects that really seem to push other people's buttons. They are:

Shotgun hunting and land leasing.

Both have been debated in real depth in the past and usually cause friction. Try not to get caught up in other peoples opinions, because that's all they are..opinions. Remember this site is about learning about and enjoying whitetail deer!

The way each and everyone of us chooses to enjoy the outdoors is our choice. So long as it is legal noone should try and impose their own personal opiniopns, methods or beliefs. Im sure all of us here at IowaWhitetail. can agree that we love the sport of deer hunting. No matter the weapon or season. The Anti's are watching! Lets not let them get their ammo from us!

it sure does suck having to be politically correct on this site and i'm sure jason didn't mean nothing by it! so quit making mountians out of mole hills. and yes i have seen alot of weekend cowboys out there thats why i don't group hunt anymore! but also know that not all shotgun hunters are cowboys

Yes livtahunt if it was only you and I reading this site he wouldn't have to be so politically correct but believe it or not anti's and PETA watch every site possible and trust me as big as this site is getting they are watching this one. I don't think anyone on this site should tell you not to buy expensive equipment so you can just shoot at any deer you see during shotgun season. No matter what anyone believes you as sportsman had better do what you can to ensure clean humane kills not just spray "cheap slugs" all over the woods. As this post makes it sound.
