Shotgun off to a slow start?

I sat in the stand this morning and saw 12 bucks and 22 does. None of the bucks were huge but I hadn't seen any of them before. I heard only a few shots from my group and I'm on my way to a swim meet in Des Moines and have only seen 2 trucks the entire way.

Edit: It was actually pretty nice sitting in the stand today. It wasn't that cold with no wind.

I am wondering if a lot of guys did not decide to go 2nd season at last minute due to the cold. The few people I have talked to have not seen / heard much action going on.
 
I was outside at the farm this morning, very little traffic on the gravel road and no shots heard. Pretty quiet out there compared to years past.
 
I drove south to Milo to pick up my deer from the Milo locker and drove around the area a bit afterwards traveling some gravel and did not see many people out. A few trucks parked here and there that I assume were hunting, I was suprised. I'm thinking the cold kept a lot of people in, although it doesn't seem to bad out with it being sunny and no wind. The public near home had a quit a few vehicles as always though.

Cold? It was -18 below in MN.
 
It was pretty slow where I was in wappelo county. We heard very few shots and when we did, they were only a single boom for the most part. Deer were holding really tight. The nabors pushed their timber and didn't bump anything out. We only saw one doe and two bucks. Woulda thought different from what I saw a few weeks ago here
 
Buddy shot a nice 8 point @ 3 tonight nothing other then that is all I know of! Best of luck to everyone!!
 
Hunted north of Bonaparte and very few shots heard. Quietest I can ever remember maybe the folks around me saw the weather and decided to hunt second season but I didnt even see the usual groups driving.
 
My group of 12 went out yesterday and shot 8 deer, mostly does. We really didn't hear much other shooting though. We hunt around Red Rock and normally hear all sorts of shots coming from the south side of the lake. We didn't really hear anything yesterday. A lot more shooting today for sure.
 
We had a group that pushed the whole section but our property, only had about 10 shots and they came out with a few does. We didn't realize they were pushin the section and we had a nice 10 (140) run by the truck! But we scrambled out to get position on other deer but nothin worth shooting. Had about 30+ deer flood into our farm
