Ive seen lots of deer layin out in the bean fields all day long. I suppose there sick of the skeeters. I zoomed in on this fawn I took a picture of and looks like there making a meal of his eye.
Not just the mosquitos but the Culicoides (black gnats) deer flies, horse flies, all drive the deer bonkers in the woods. One of the biggest bucks I saw down in Missouri a couple of years ago was out in the middle of a field at high noon at about 103 degrees and high humidity....my guess he was escaping the insect pests
