sight light

Used to have one, but when I switched sights I decided that if I needed a light then it was probably too dark to be taking the shot.

I had one for 1 year. Only time I used it was when I got down and started walking out... After the first deer that walked out on the wheeler trail in front of me and didnt bust me. I realized:
1. Its past legal shooting hours.

2. If it was a buck I couldnt see the rack to know if it was a shooter.

A friend has a new sight this year and the pin has glow-in-the-dark dust in it.

Used to use one but then I got a bright Impact sight this year that wont need a light.
I feel better by not using one.

I put an afterburner on my Deadnuts sights, doesn't work in very low light. Makes the pins look like they are the size of a dime.

I too had one. Turned it on once last year just before dark and lit up the whole sight like a christmas tree. Wouldn't have been able to see past the glow if there was a deer out there anyway.

A few are making them with lights that light up your wrapped fibers. They would be better but if you have a wrapped sight you shouldn't need any brighter pins.

I got one, haven't used it. Kinda thought I might need it for hunting in the blind for turkeys but I didn't. The pins on my Spot Hogg are extremely dull, I'll probably just do a Fitz Fiber modification after this fall and put on some 0.010" pins.

They are illegal here in ND.

That is why I shoot the Black Gold flashpoint sight. Pins stay bright in all conditions.

I have one on my Copper John sight, but have never used it. Jjohnson, take a black felt tip marker, and go over the lens with the marker. It will diffuse the light so that it's not too bright.

I picked up one this year. I was at Gander and they didn't have anything that was on my list and I felt like spending money, lol. I got the truglo one. I shoot an older, cheap version of the trophy ridge. So I am still trying to keep it from looking like a dang flashlight when I turn it on. I've never needed one in the past, but hey who knows. Typically it would be non-legal shooting hours, but I can see in the thick October timber on an overcast or even rainy day that a little bit more glow would be legal and beneficial to have.

I see I'm going to have to try the felt marker trick on the light.

I only use mine when in my double bull during normal light conditions.

Impact sites are nice

I agree with the statements above, if you need a lighted sight, its too late to shoot.....IMO
but you can buy sites that store enough lite to be used past dark....
lots of fiberoptics are the key!!!

No light for me.... the Spot Hogg Wrap is plenty bright for legal shooting hours.... thought I might get the light for turkey hunting in a blind, but I honestly don't think I will need it.
