Well, he did hunt very very hard and earned this one. We really don't do much gun hunting but always have at least one tag for a buck and then we doe hunt like crazy. This buck is one we knew very well BUT he was a nocturnal hermit that lived in a thicket on my land that's about 5 acres of nasty area. Aaron sat a traditional bow-stand this weekend and shot the thing at like 4 yards with the 12. The buck came by at 7:30 in the morning coming up the ridge. We've passed deer that might score a bit better BUT knew this buck was 5 where some others are 3 or 4 year olds. Glad for him on a good buck....
**You ever or always have it where you are more glad for your brother (or dad, son, wife, friend, etc) to get a good buck than if you'd get it? That's how I always am, I was MORE excited than if I would have shot it OR any buck my bros get than if I got it myself.
***We always play tricks on eachother to surprise eachother that we shot one. He comes up to me with an oak leaf wondering "what weird kind of oak is this!?!?!?????" I said "ahh, a red or possibly a pin oak.....". "Hey, why is there blood on that leaf????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". It's always something different. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
