Skully's TOM-O-HAWK-CHOP

It had been a pretty frustrating season up until Friday. Lots of birds gobbling on the roost but quiet birds when they hit the ground. Henned up gobblers on every knob but none that wanted anything to do with my set-up. Finally caught a break Friday when we set up within 100 yds of three fired-up gobbies. The first bird out did the usual puff-parade just out of range and right behind a group of hens which of course led him the wrong direction. :( The other two birds on the other hand wanted a closer look at our deeks. I sent a 125 grain Tom-O-Hawk expandable through this guy while he was drumming three yards from the blind! We had a video malfunction and only got the after shot footage but you still couldn't wipe the smile off my face. My best bird ever with archery tackle!

Congrats and thanks for including the pic of the digital scale. It reminded me that I could use my digital fish scale to weigh turkeys, something which I hadn't thought of before.

Goodness do you need a hoist to hold it up, that thing's a beast of a bird! :way:

They aren't responding well to setups anymore in my neck of the woods either. Went from being pretty workable to dowright owly at the transition from 2nd to 3rd season. Way to get it done.
