It's been a hectic week so I'm just getting around to posting my story. Took last Fiday off and headed to my honey-hole. Carried in around 55 pounds of gear, "I was determined to film my own hunt this year." Had the blind up and deeks out by 5:40. Three toms were hammering but they all sounded a ways off. I gave a few light yelps and got an answer, didn't call much after that. Had a jake sneak into my spread. He was fooled, and I thought about whacking him but I settled for a double bearded jake last year so this year I was after a longbeard. Got some great footage of him amongst my deeks. Soon the jake looked west and saw something that made him head east. It was a long-beard, full strut coming to the decoys! I got sweaty palms as I got the camera and tripod in position and put on my release. It seemed like forever before he made it to my shooting window. He strutted right up to my homemade "Ugly-Boy" decoy before I let the Switchback rip a WASP broadhead followed by a Luma-nock into his goody basket. He didn't go 15 yds before he gave up. I was pumped, and the video turned out awesome! Wish I knew how to upload video here, I have pics if someone gets a min. to help a dummy post them sometime.
