Snapshot Sniper

Anyone ever try the Snapshot Sniper board controller? I'd like to try building a trail cam, got a Sony P41 & am anxious to try this project. Looks like the BG2 boards are out of stock at Hag's House. I'd like to get the quickest trigger speed I can, any recommendations?

SSS is all I use, I absolutely love them. They offer a ton of features and everything is done via an LCD screen with push buttons to scroll through all the options and make selections. No dip switches whatsoever. IMO, it's the best board you can get. The huge plus on top of that is Gary of SSS. He's the master of quality customer service. E-mails/pm's are always answered quickly and he'll bend over backwards to help out. One of the few companies/products in any market that I would give a perfect rating in all regards.

The sss is a good board as welll as the bigfoot. No matter what board you use the trigger speed is dependant on the camera not the electronics.

The one thing I didnt like about the sss is the layout. I wanted to mount it vertically and had a hard time. I havnt looked into lately that may have changed.

The Snapshot Sniper is a great board, and i have been using them for 3 or 4 years now. I also use the BG1's and BG2's. Gary has great support for his boards, but i think you'll find you won't need it. The only down side of using the lcd Snapshot is in our Iowa cold winters. If it is down in the 20's or colder; the lcd won't work for changing settings. You'll have to take it some place to warm up to change any settings. If your not changing the settings; everything will work fine. I run cameras year round.

The SSS is a great board I have built several cams with it and have had zero problems with them. One thing that I love about them is they have an adjustable trigger time. Some cameras of the same model will be quicker than others and the SSS board will let you take advantage of this.
